One of the Erasmus Mundus programme's objectives is to
encourage and enable highly qualified graduates and scholars from all over the
world to obtain qualifications and/or experience in the European Union.
A scholar is an academic and/or professional of
outstanding experience who carries out teaching or research assignments and
scholarly work within the framework of an Erasmus Mundus Masters Course.
The IMIM Consortium’s universities are
hosting outstanding third-country scholars whose research interests
relate to the core values of the programme and who are interested
in strengthening academic partnerships with the Consortium. Selected academics
are hosted for a period of up to three months in one of the Consortium’s institutions.
During this period they teach or develop elements of the IMIM courses and can
be engaged in independent research or other activities.
Erasmus Mundus scholarships are available for third-country
scholars.
The amount of an average three-month scholarship for
scholars is 13,000 Euro. This includes three monthly grants of 4,000 Euro and a
fixed amount of 1,000 Euro for travel expenses. If the period is more than
three month no more than 13,000 euro will be paid. The period does not have to
be 3 months in a row. Further information on Erasmus Mundus
